Uganda’s Cricket Cranes have continued their winning streak at the Pearl of Africa Series, dispatching Nigeria by 38 runs.
It’s the fourth consecutive win for the Cricket Cranes and the second against the Yellow Greens of Nigeria.
Three changes were made to Uganda’s playing eleven with batter Calvin Watuwa handed a debut and Innocent Mwebaze given a T20i debut after being on the reserve in the World Cup, while Joseph Baguma got his first match of the tournament.
Juma Miyaji once again won the toss and sent in his side to bat. Shrideep Mangela and Robinson Obuya got off to a flyer, but the latter would fall in the third over.
Rhagav Dhawan (22) joined Mangela (51) who was the aggressor and the partnership dragged the total to 84 before Dhawan was dismissed with the first ball of the thirteenth over.
Cyrus Kakuru (21), Dinesh Nakrani (10), and Alpesh Ramjani (13) chipped in with handy contributions but Nigeria gave away 16 extras as Cricket Cranes settled at 147/6.
Miyaji gave up 16 runs in the opening over but thereafter, the Cricket Cranes became tidy with the bowling and reduced Nigeria to 55/6 in ten overs.
Nakrani 3/11, Baguma 3/32, Matthew Muzinguzi 2/21 and Miyagi 2/19 cleaned out Nigeria inside the 19th over.
