Police Arrest Gang Forging Rs.5 Crore Land Papers

Hyderabad: Keesara police, along with Bhongir special operations team (SOT), arrested eight persons for fabricating documents to illegally sell open plots in Rampally and Ghatkesar worth Rs.5 crore. At least 10 more suspects remain at large.Police said the gang identified vacant, unfenced plots rarely visited by their owners, targeting properties belonging to elderly persons or NRIs. They obtained certified copies and encumbrance certificates, then forged sale deeds, death certificates, heir certificates and even passports to claim ownership. Those arrested include Beegudem Aravind, Sampangi Suresh and Eega Hariprasad, who conspired to lead the operation. They roped in Nagendra Prasad, a repeat offender with four prior cases, along with Chekkala Somnath, Mohammed Hussain and Vanaja, to forge documents and impersonate owners. In one case, fake death and heir certificates were used to transfer ownership. In another, forged compromise memos were filed to bypass pending litigation. A fake passport and Special Power of Attorney were also produced to claim a US-based owner had authorised a sale. Police seized a laptop, printers, scanners, fake stamps, polymer liquid, fabricated deeds for five properties, seven mobile phones and a car. Several accused, including Prasad, Somnath and Hariprasad, have earlier cheating and forgery cases registered in Meerpet, Panjagutta, LB Nagar, Pet Basheerabad, Jeedimetla and Keesara since 2009. Rachakonda commissioner G. Sudheer Babu said preventive detention proceedings will be initiated. Searches later uncovered a letter outlining a theft plan, after which he confessed. Police said the boy had tried to steal a cricket bat from the girl’s house. When she resisted, he killed her. He was remanded to judicial custody the following day.Hyderabad woman kills 3 children in Saudi Arabia Hyderabad: A 33-year-old woman from Hyderabad killed her three children before attempting suicide in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, on August 26. The accused, identified as Syeda Humera Amreen from Tolichowki, drowned her twin sons, Mohammed Sadeq Ahmed and Mohammed Adil Ahmed, aged six, along with her three-year-old son, Mohammed Yousuf Ahmed, in a bathtub. Her husband, Mohammed Shahnawaz, returned home from work to find the children dead and Amreen unconscious. He alerted police and hospital authorities. Amreen, who reportedly attempted suicide, was shifted to the hospital and is under treatment in police custody. The Saudi Red Crescent moved the children’s bodies to a local hospital. Burial arrangements are being made under the supervision of community activist Nass Shoukat Ali. Preliminary investigation suggested Amreen was struggling with mental health issues and was undergoing counselling. Domestic tensions and isolation abroad may have contributed to the tragedy, police suspect. Al Khobar police registered a case, are examining her medical history and family circumstances and launched a detailed probe into the motive.
