Police have identified a 28-year-old man who died Saturday after the ATV he was riding struck trees in Jackson Township.
Brandon Orozco-Avila, of Toms River, was riding on dirt trails in the Clayton Pits, located behind the Pine Barrens Golf Course, when he lost control of the vehicle, Jackson police said.
He veered off the trail into a heavily wooded area near South Hope Chapel Road, striking several trees, police said.
Police responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m. for a report of a serious ATV crash.
Orozco-Avila was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The incident remains under investigation.
