A police chase on a usually quiet road in South Wales uncovered a series of criminal offences and ended in three young people getting arrested. Gwent Police were patrolling in the Llantarnam area of Cwmbran just after midday on April 17 when they noticed a vehicle being driven with suspected cloned plates. Officers followed the vehicle, and when the driver noticed, they tried to get away but crashed. Three people, one 18-year-old, one 19-year-old and a 20-year-old, fled the scene. Officers pursued the suspects on foot and arrested all three for a series of offences, including the theft of a car, drug possession, as well as various other driving offences. All remain in police custody at this time. The stolen car, a Volkswagen Golf, was pictured after the crash with a missing bumper on Newport Road in Cwmbran, surrounded by police cars and police officers.
