Poorly cat Dobby 'emaciated' on arrival at Cambridgeshire cat rescue

A Cambridgeshire cat rescue is raising money for Dobby, a poorly sphinx cat who was 'emaciated' when he first arrived. Lindsay Kierman, who runs the rescue at her home in Gorefield, near Wisbech, hopes to raise £3,000 for Dobby's veterinary treatment.
Lindsay says she has already spent £2,000 on his X-rays and blood tests. It has been a struggle as he is one of 24 cats that she looks after.
A GoFundMe page for Dobby was set up on Monday (February 3) and £755 has been donated so far – by Lindsay's friends and people who have adopted cats from her.
Lindsay explained: "The £3,000 will be for Dobby if he has to have his MRI. We are waiting on the results of blood tests to find out whether he will.
"If not, it will be used for vet bills and food at the rescue. We do not get money from any source apart from supporters. We have to rely on people's generosity."
All of Dobby's siblings have died. Lindsay said that the breeder who looked after him before her did not keep track of who his parents were.
She described Dobby as a 'lovely little guy' who nearly didn't survive, as he was 'absolutely emaciated' when he first arrived. "I have never had to give so many medications to one cat in my life," she added.
You can find the GoFundMe page for Dobby's treatment here.
