Nigerian table tennis star Quadri Aruna has been handed a tough draw in the WTT Champions Chongqing 2025, facing off against World No. 2 Wang Chuqin of China in the round of 32.
The highly anticipated match is set to take place on Wednesday, which will mark the first encounter between the two players in the WTT series.

Aruna will rely on his experience and tactical versatility to take on the formidable Chinese opponent. The Nigerian star will need to be at the top of his game to overcome the challenge posed by the World No. 2.

Aruna's participation in the WTT Champions Chongqing 2025 comes on the heels of his impressive performance at the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup in Tunis, where he finished as the runner-up, losing to arch-rival Omar Assar in the final.
In other matches, Assar will face German pen-holder Dan Qiu, while Goda will take on South Korea's sensation Shun Yubin.
Meshref, a nine-time Africa Cup champion, will confront Korean star Kim Nayeong in the first round of the Women's Singles.
The WTT Champions Chongqing 2025 boasts a star-studded lineup, featuring top players from around the world, including Assar, Hana Goda, and Dina Meshref.
The tournament, which carries an $800,000 prize money, will take place from March 11 to 16.
