Rahul Dravid Names 'Best Captain He Played Under', Picks Player That Never Led Team India

On being asked to pick the best captain he ever played under by Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Dravid had an interesting pick and named a player who featured in only seven games for the Indian cricket team and never led the Men in Blue in international cricket. Dravid himself captained India on a full-time basis for two years from 2005 to 2007. He played under some of the finest captains that the country has seen, from Sourav Ganguly to Anil Kumble and MS Dhoni. However, it was VB Chandrasekhar who stood out for Dravid during the initial stage of his career. "I really enjoyed playing cricket under VB Chandrasekhar. I was at an impressionable age in my career. I learnt a lot playing league cricket under him in Tamil Nadu. I learn a lot of things, his competitiveness and desire to win. VB was really one of the early captains I enjoyed playing under. I thought MS (Dhoni) was really good. At the backend, the way he managed. Not an easy transition for him from being a young man to captain the kind of guy that they were. Sourav (Ganguly) brought a lot to Indian cricket by being clear on wanting to win. Anil (Kumble) was clear with his communication," said Dravid in an interaction on Ashwin's YouTube Channel on the 'Kutti Stories with Ash' Show.
