Veteran actress Rekha has been a part of Indian cinema for decades. She is one of those stars who have witnessed the evolution of cinema over time. Even after she stopped acting Rekha is regarded as one of the most graceful and elegant actresses in the Bollywood industry. While Rekha made headlines for her professional achievements there were insiders who tried to pull her down with gossip. However these gossipmongers couldn’t do much and the actress remained one of the biggest stars of all time.
Recently speaking about Rekha’s professional behavior director Rakesh Roshan opened up about his experience. Roshan cast the actress in the film Khoon Bhari Maang. Now in a recent interview Roshan revealed that he was warned by people about casting Rekha.
Speaking to ANI Roshan talked about his association with Rekha and said “I always heard these rumors about her but whenever I worked with her I never witnessed any such thing. When I went to Rekha as a director I told her ‘Listen this is only my second film and it is a difficult subject. It is a woman-oriented film. I am taking a risk with this film. The story was such that in the climax the wife kills her husband.
He further added I asked her clearly ‘You won’t give me any trouble na?’ She was like ‘What are you even saying? Have I ever done this? I only trouble people who don’t pay me or don’t fulfill their commitments.’ I said okay.
Describing another interaction with Rekha for Koi... Mil Gaya Roshan said that he went to Rekha narrated the script and asked for her feedback. However Rekha was quick to realize that Roshan was not just asking for her feedback; instead he wanted to cast her for the film.
This is not the first time an actor or director has opened up about Rekha’s tantrums. In an earlier interview actor Ranjeet also spoke about the same. He said that he cast Rekha for his film. However upon hearing about her tantrums he asked the actress to return the signing amount.
