Helmed by celebrated director Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra, an eight-time Oscar-winning producer and CEO of Prime Focus Studios and DNEG — the VFX powerhouse behind Hollywood blockbusters like Dune and Oppenheimer. Combining world-class technology with India’s rich cultural narrative, this film promises a groundbreaking cinematic experience.
The ensemble cast features some of Indian cinema’s biggest stars: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Adding to the grandeur, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer makes his Bollywood debut alongside A.R. Rahman, while action sequences are choreographed by Guy Norris, known for Mad Max: Fury Road.
The July 3 simultaneous unveiling in nine Indian cities — including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kochi — was an unprecedented celebration in Indian film history. Just one day later, the campaign went global as Ramayana took over Times Square, signaling India’s entry into the big league of international cinema.
Co-produced by Prime Focus Studios, DNEG, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is being shot for IMAX release in two parts. Part 1 is slated to hit theatres during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027, promising audiences an epic, immersive experience.
