The Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund held its annual Grantee Finalist Presentation event on April 15 at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. Over the last six months, the RSFWF grant committees, chaired by Maritia Walper and Sara Bennett, reviewed over 124 letters of intent inquiries from charitable organizations in San Diego focusing on services for women, children, and youth—areas chosen by the membership. Thirty-three organizations advanced to the request for proposal stage. From that, RSFWF members had the unique privilege of conducting in-person visits to 17 organizations and examining their organizational structures and proposed programs in detail. This process narrowed the pool to 14 finalists, and each organizationpresented an overview of their project, with a maximum grant request of $75,000. All RSFWF members voted on preference for funding, with the grants to be awarded on May 15, making each member’s voice and influence significant, according to a news release. Through the power of collective giving, the Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund has been a driving force for positive change in the San Diego community. Since its inception in 2004, the RSFWF has donated over $5.7 million to 165 local nonprofit organizations and projects, making a significant difference in the lives of many, the news release stated. In addition to making grants that impact the community, the Women’s Fund provides unique and inclusive opportunities for women to connect and engage. RSFWF members can attend events, network with other women, participate in service projects, and learn about important community issues.
