Here is your Saturday lunchtime transfer bulletin with updates on Rangers, Ben Doak, Aberdeen and Hibs... While Rangers have been busy recruiting nine new players this summer, there is also work ongoing to reduce the squad size with players heading for Ibrox exit door. One left-back has already departed - Robbie Fraser was confirmed on Friday evening to have joined Dunfermline Athletic for an undisclosed fee - while another, Jefte, is said to be on the verge of completing a £6million move to Brazilian club Palmeiras. This would represent a signifcant profit on the £600,000 fee Rangers paid to APOEL for his services last summer. Rangers have been linked with a move for Real Betis centre-back Nobel Mendy but when asked about the player, head coach Russell Martin said: “He doesn’t play for us. I can’t tell you anything about him. I’ve never met the kid, never spoke to him in my life. So, I don’t really know. I’m not kidding you on, I don’t know.” Another possible Ibrox departure is midfielder Bailey Rice, with Motherwell reportedly keen to take their former youth player back to Fir Park on a season-long loan deal. Former Celtic youngster Ben Doak is closing in on a £25million Liverpool exit. According to reports, the 19-year-old winger is set to join Premier League rivals Bournemouth. He has played just 10 times for Liverpool since joining from Celtic in 2022. The forward, who has six caps for Scotland, spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, scoring three times and recording seven assists in 24 matches. Another former Celt, Matt O'Riley, could also be set for another big transfer just a year after departing Parkhead in a £25m move to Brighton. The midfielder, who notched two goals and three assists for the Seagulls in 21 Premier League appearances last season, is wanted by Juventus as a replacement for Douglas Luiz, who is said to have agreed terms with Nottingham Forest. While Celtic are not believed to be entitled to a sell-on fee for Doak, the club is understood to be entitled to 10 per cent of any transfer fee Brighton receive for O'Riley. Aberdeen are closing in on the signing of AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic. The Serbian Under-21 internationalist is reportedly due to land in Scotland this weekend to complete a medical and seal his move to Pittodrie. According to reports in Italy, Milan will allow the player to move for free but will be entitled to a large per cent of any future transfer fee. An Aberdeen exit is also on the cards with defender Slobodan Rubecic Slobodan Rubezic reportedly set to join Polish top flight side Korona Kielce. The Montenegro international spent the second half of last season on loan at former club Novi Pazar in Serbia. In other Dons-related news, former striker Bojan Miovski could be on the move again this summer amid reported interested from Valencia. Aberdeen netted a £6.8miliion fee when they sold the North Macedonia international to Girona last summer, but he struggled in his first season in La Liga, netting just four times in 22 matches in all competitions. The youngest ever player to represent Hibs has left the club on a permanent transfer. Rory Whittaker, who made history when he made his senior debut aged 16 years and 44 days, has joined English Championship side Southampton. The 18-year-old made 14 first team appearances and helped Hibs’ Under-18s win the CAS Elite U18 League last season. He also had a short spell on loan with Scottish League 2 side Spartans. Hibs sporting director Malky Mackay said: “As always we have to make difficult decisions regarding our young players, taking into consideration their wishes, their development, their contractual status, and other details. There was a lot of interest in Rory from clubs down in England, and as he had a year left on his contract, we decided this was the right deal for Hibernian FC. Whilst the main aim for our Academy is to produce players for our own First Team, when a move like this comes up – it is difficult to deny a youngster that opportunity."
