@Source: timesnownews.com
Ravindra Jadeja etched his name in the history books despite India's 22-run defeat at Lord's against England during the third Test of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar trophy with a valiant knock of 61 as he fought alone for the visiting team after a top-order collapse. Jadeja gave India hope of a miraculous victory as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj turned perfect allies but the rub of the green did not go in the visiting team's favour as they went 2-1 down in the hard-fought series. In the fourth innings, with India chasing 193, the Indian cricket legend walked out at number seven after Rishabh Pant's dismissal and played an unbeaten knock of 61 in 181 balls as he masterfully batted with the tail. Ravindra Jadeja Creates History As a result of his efforts, the star all-rounder managed to score fifties in both innings of the Lord's Test, having made a knock of 72 in 131 balls in the first innings as he played a key role in the Shubman Gill-led side posting a total of 387 and finishing level with the home team's first innings tally. With this, Jadeja has become only the second Indian after Vinoo Mankad in 1952 to score twin fifties at Lord's. Moreover, Jadeja had also scored twin fifties in the second Test at Edgbaston, which India won by 336 runs. With the incredible effort with the bat over the last two months, Jadeja has become the first visiting player in history to score twin fifties in a Test match twice in England from number six or below. Overall, there have been 15 instances of this happening by 14 players, including six Indians.
