Congress national spokesperson Dr Shama Mohamed issued a fiery statement condemning the Pahalgam terror attack and called for a tough stance against Pakistan. The devastating terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam claimed the lives of at least 26 people.“Rawalpindi should be flattened! No more talks, no more trade, no more cricket, no more cultural activities. Time to teach Pakistan a lesson they don’t forget. Jai Hind,” she wrote on X, referencing the suspected involvement of Pakistan-based terror outfits in the attack. In an earlier post, she condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. She also took aim at the BJP-led central government’s handling of the security situation in the region.“The news of the terror attack on tourists in Jammu & Kashmir is deeply disturbing. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The Narendra Modi government must come clean about the ground situation in Jammu & Kashmir, instead of making hollow claims about eliminating terrorism,” she added. The Pahalgam attack, one of the deadliest in recent years in Jammu and Kashmir, took place in the scenic Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, when terrorists dressed in military-style fatigues opened fire on a group of tourists.Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos and panic as the tranquil tourist destination turned into a warzone within minutes.
