The developer also cited several other stats, including 11.8 million matches played, 55.6 million goals scored, 33.5 million assists, and 69.1 million saves. Rematch first launched less than a week ago on Thursday, June 19 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, including Xbox Game Pass subscribers. The game's focus on skill-based arcade-style soccer, where all users control a single player, has resonated with audiences, especially those who liked what they saw from its open beta. The game's launch wasn't an especially smooth one, as it was originally set to release with cross-platform play before hitting some technical difficulties just before release. Online performance hasn't been the best, either, with some players experiencing lag, desynchronization issues, and even some freezes and crashes. Rematch's developers addressed this in a Steam post on the game's release date and is currently working on solutions. A small patch addressing a frequent crash and a sleep mode bug went live earlier today with additional patches expected in the future.
