An India-based business firm Torrent Group will likely acquire major stakes in the IPL 2022 Champion franchise Gujarat Titans. The media reports have learned that the Torrent Group is likely to buy a 67% stake in Gujarat Titans. However, the final call on this process is subject to final approval. Advertisment ESPNCricinfo understands that the new owners will join the franchise in the upcoming 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Torrent Group will buy most stakes from the franchise"s current owners, CVC Capital Partners (Irelia Company Pte Ltd). The new season of the tournament will start from March 21 later this year and new owners might join the group after the final approval from the current owners. Speaking of Torrent Group, the business conglomerate currently owns a valuation of INR 41,000. It ranks among one of the top and reputed MNCs (Multinational Companies) in India. The two major spearheads in the Torrent Group are Torrent Power and Torrent Pharma. The media reports also suggest that Torrent Group chairman Sudhir Mehta"s son Jinal Mehta will oversee the group"s investments in the Indian Premier League. Returning to Gujarat Titans" cricketing aspect in the Indian Premier League, the team is currently led by the star India batter and ODI vice-captain Shubman Gill. Star Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan is also there in the squad, alongside England"s national skipper Jos Buttler and star India pacer Mohammed Siraj. The team won their first-ever IPL title in the debut appearance in 2022 under the captaincy of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who will now lead the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL 2025.
