All 10 of the most expensive homes listed for sale in the US are asking more than $100 million - and two are asking more than $200 million. That is according to a new report from real estate brokerage Redfin released this month. Coastal Florida and Southern California dominate the list, with half of the most expensive home listings in the Sunshine State, three in California, one in New York City and one in Lake Tahoe. Here, we break down the nation's most expensive homes for sale. 1. $285 million The most expensive home for sale in the US, complete with its own lagoons and private yacht dock, is listed at a whopping $285 million and counts the ocean as a backyard. While many Florida residents are faced with natural disasters and soaring home insurance costs, beachfront Palm Beach County, with its warm weather and lack of a state income tax, still draws ultra-rich residents like Larry Ellison and Sean Hannity. A 100-year-old Banyan Tree anchors the estate, flanked by cascading waterfalls, a tropical saltwater fishpond, a lap infinity pool, terraces overlooking the bay, and tranquil meditation gardens.
