The Spanish national beach football team is preparing for the 2025 World Cup in Torrox. The competition is scheduled from May 1 to May 11 in the Seychelles.
The Spanish players are practicing on the sand courts of Ferrara Beach as they prepare to represent the country for the third consecutive time in the global tournament. During their stay in Axarquia, the team and the technical staff are accommodated at the Iberostar Waves Málaga Playa Hotel in Torrox Costa.
The hotel’s facilities recently hosted the draw for Spain’s national men’s and women’s first and second division of the beach football championships.
Local authorities paid a visit to the team and expressed their pride in hosting the national squad ahead of such an important competition. “Hosting the national beach soccer team here, in the best facilities and enjoying Europe’s best climate, is a point of pride for us,” said Mayor Óscar Medina.
At the World Cup, Spain’s national team will play in Group C, facing Senegal, Chile, and Tahiti. ‘La Furia Roja’ will debut on May 2 against Senegal, then will play Chile on May 4, finishing the first phase on May 6 against Tahiti.
Spain has a strong tradition in beach football, having competed in 9 out of the 12 editions of the World Cup. Their best result was in 2013, when Spain reached the final of the competition, where they lost to Russia.
