Roger Federer, even after stepping away from professional tennis, somehow always manages to remain in the spotlight. He did so once again recently by teasing what appeared to be a possible return to the sport.Federer is a name that needs no introduction, and it’s no wonder that fans across the globe were deeply saddened when he chose to retire from professional tennis in 2022. His final match came at the Laver Cup, where he teamed up with his greatest rival Rafael Nadal, while Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and several others stood by to bid him an emotional farewell.Since then, the Swiss legend has been checking off a long list of things he had put on hold during his playing days—traveling the world with his wife Mirka, their four children, and even his parents. He’s also made it a point to stay connected to the sport, showing up at tennis tournaments and making his presence felt in the stands. Now, as it turns out, Roger Federer—by his own candid admission—is starting to feel a bit restless in retirement and is eyeing a return to the court. While it won’t be a comeback to professional tennis just yet, he’s gearing up for exhibition matches and plans to start practicing two to three times a week to get back into the groove.“Honestly I'd love to play some more tennis again. Enough with the golf already for a moment now, I've played so much. But no seriously, I'd love to start playing like two-three times a week again and hopefully, get myself back on an exhibition court. Maybe fill up a few nice stadiums around the world," Federer told TNT Sports a few days ago.“I've no plans yet but I know that the training part, I miss it a little bit to be honest because I haven't played a whole lot since I retired. Just because I think my body needed a little break and maybe my mind also a little bit. I've played with my kids, you know but I'd really love to practice a little bit for myself as well. So I'll do that as I keep on travelling and hopefully you'll get to see me in an exhibition soon," he added.Even though the 43-year-old has shared his vision for a comeback, he hasn’t locked in a venue or finalized any event name yet. Naturally, fans are already buzzing with speculation, but for now, he is keeping things open-ended.Roger Federer enjoys golf while settling into retired lifeRoger Federer pictured at the 2024 Shanghai Masters | Image Source: GettyRoger Federer is certainly making the most of his retirement, and that includes indulging in other sports. Wozniacki later shared a few pictures of their reunion on Instagram with the following caption:"Had a great couple of days at @themasters! Thank you @rolex for your amazing hospitality!"
