RORY McILROY had a foul-mouthed two-word reaction to the PGA Championship being delayed for three hours. Play was suspended on Saturday morning due to thunderstorms which forced a rejig to the format of the third round. Golfers returned to the clubhouse on the sounding of a horn, with cameras capturing McIlroy's reaction to it. The 35-year-old was visibly frustrated at the situation before clearly saying "f*** off" although the microphone did not pick the sound up. The video was posted to social media by 'Rory Tracker' with the caption: "The horn has blown. Tee times will delayed and Rory is less than pleased" The clip went viral, with fans laughing at the blunt expression. One said: "he’s so enunciated" while a second posted: "Wonder what he said" A third posted: "Let he who has never said this on the golf course cast the first stone lol" A fourth commented: "Me after getting on the shuttle, pulling up and then having to go back to the car lol." A fifth said: "When you get in an argument with your wife about golf and are almost to the car when you finally get the guts to say what you were feeling but she's inside and can't see or hear you:" A sixth posted: "hahaha this is iconic" The Holywood man eventually teed off for his third round on +1, having just about survived the cut at Quail Hollow. The same could not be said for Shane Lowry who, along with Padraig Harrington and Seamus Power, saw his weekend come to an end on Friday. A frustrating second round reached its nadir when he lashed out at an official and the course itself. The fairway took the brunt of the Irishman's fury after a controversial ruling saw him denied relief for an embedded ball. The 2019 Open champion was left raging on the eighth hole at Quail Hollow Club after his tee shot lodged itself in the fairway. Lowry called for a rules official before pleaded his case, the world number ten was convinced he was entitled to relief - but the rules official refused to budge. After the lengthy exchange, the 38-year-old chunked his visibly hard effort, but his frustration boiled over as he took a full swing and massive divot out of the turf with his iron in rage. Lowry could be heard cursing after the shot, he raged: "F*** this place." The meltdown continued as Lowry went on to miss his putt for par. After carding the bogey, the Clara native made an explicit gesture to the hole in a flash of anger caught on camera.
