RTÉ's Dancing With The Stars boss says talks are still "ongoing" for the show to return in January. The broadcaster unveiled its new season launch on Thursday and the glitzy RTÉ One show was noticeably absent from the announcement of what's coming to our screens over the next few months. But ShinAwiL boss Larry Bass - who produces the show - said he is hoping for an announcement to be imminent as negotiations are "ongoing", telling the Irish Mirror : "These things take time. The summer doesn't help... but hopefully we will be doing a series, but until there is a contract, there is nothing contracted. "We're in ongoing discussions but unfortunately the contract will only get done when everything else gets done. It feels like the peace process with Ukraine... until something is there to lock and load, we can't say for definite that the show will be back. "If you ask me what percentage would you say the show will be back, I'd say 80 per cent plus that it will be back but until we have a contract, I can't confirm anything. "I would be shocked and stunned if they axed it at this point but I can't answer for RTÉ and until we have a contract, I can't say we are doing the show. It is all in the hands of RTÉ. They're not waiting for anything from us." A spokesman for RTÉ said an announcement will be made ahead of the station's spring schedule launch in December. Elsewhere, RTÉ has announced three new coaches have signed up to Ireland's Fittest Family as the show undergoes a major revamp. As previously revealed in the Irish Mirror , Paralympic champion swimmer Ellen Keane has joined the show, alongside former Dublin footballer Michael Darragh MacAuley and ex-Ireland rugby international Andrew Trimble, who have also signed up. The show revamp will see the coaching families go up against veteran coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary and Donncha O'Callaghan and their super-fit contestants in a newly-revamped series, with 2FM's Laura Fox hosting. RTÉ made the announcement at the launch of its Autumn schedule, which includes the return of the Late Late Show, hosted by Patrick Kielty, on Friday, September 12. This season also marks ten years of audience favourite, The Late Late Country Music Special. Steve Carson, Director of Video, RTÉ said: "The coming months on RTÉ sees an unbeatable mix of quality Irish programmes with something for everyone, from the skullduggery of The Traitors to the excitement of Women's Rugby World Cup and men's Autumn Nations Series, to the joy of seeing Marian Keyes' much-loved Walsh Sisters come to life on our screens. "It features the very best Irish creative talent both on screen and behind the scenes from an unprecedented amount of Irish drama, to brand-new Irish entertainment, documentaries and factual programming and sporting moments for the nation to come together. "We're incredibly grateful to all of our partners in the independent sector and the teams in RTÉ who continue in their mission to deliver quality Irish content for Irish audiences and enable us to deliver such a distinctive slate of programming to you." The Traitors Ireland will make its Irish debut and will officially air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, 31 August, airing on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
