A newly invited Super Eagles star has revealed that he is ready to debut for Nigeria against Rwanda. Newly invited Super Eagles striker Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare is eager to make his international debut after receiving his first call-up from head coach Eric Chelle for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The 24-year-old Genk forward has been in impressive form, scoring 19 goals across all competitions this season, placing him third among Nigeria's top goalscorers in Europe, behind only Cyriel Dessers (21 goals) and Victor Osimhen (26 goals). Arokodare scored in Genk's 2-1 victory over Union St-Gilloise, and he hopes to carry that momentum into the Super Eagles squad. What Arokodare said Arokodare feels good and excited to make the team, revealing that the three points is the most important for him. The atmosphere afterwards in the dressing room was great. You should take a look at my socials," he said, as quoted by Voetbalnieuws. He continued, "Sometimes it may have looked like we didn’t try hard enough, but we’ve now shown what we’re top for. The confidence with us was great, and we were motivated after the result in the previous match (4-0 defeat in November). "I still don’t know how to feel. It’s a mix of only great feelings for my family and me. I can’t wait to put on that shirt," he concluded. Arokodare has joined Victor Osimhen and other members of the Super Eagles squad at their training camp in Kigali, and he is hopeful of making his debut when Nigeria face Rwanda on Friday.
