Salis Abdul Samed secures English Premier League promotion with Sunderland

Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed helped Sunderland AFC return to the English Premier League after beating Sheffield United in the final of the promotion play-off.
The Black Cats came from a goal down to defeat the Blades 2-1 at Wembley and secure their topflight return in eight years.
Tyrese Campbell gave Sheffield United the lead in the first half but Sunderland recovered in the second half with Eliezer Mayenda netting the equaliser before second half substitute Tom Watson snatched a late winner.
Did Salis play against Sheffield United?
Salis, who is on loan from French outfit RC Lens, was an unused substitute in the final of the play-offs.
However, the Ghana international played a role in the Black Cats' return to the English Premier League after making ten appearances during the regular season.
Injuries have marred the campaign of the midfielder but Salis showed quality in the few games he played for Sunderland.
The club have the option of making his move a permanent one or extend his stay for another season by offering him another loan deal.
However, Football League World reports that the defensive midfielder will depart the club and find find a new club in Denmark.
Abdul Samed to depart Sunderland for Danish club
According to Anna Granville in an interview with Africa Foot, Danish Superliga side Sonderjyske, who look set to avoid relegation from the Danish top-flight following their promotion as second-tier champions in the 2023/24 season, have opened talks with the representatives of Abdul Samed about a move this summer.
Anna Granville, an assistant for the Talent and Social department at Supernova Management, who are the agency that represent Abdul Samed has said that playing time is crucial for the Ghanaian midfielder and that Sonderjyske are pushing for a deal:
“Towards the end of last week we received an official contact from Sonderjyske as they wanted clarification on the exact situation in Salis. The feeling is that they will insist on an agreement, especially with Lens, who is the main owner of the player at the moment.
