Sam Thompson was heard telling his family he had 'massive news' as he shared with fans that he's 'back where he belongs' after his emotional charity mission. The This Morning star has spent time recovering after finishing his five-day challenge for Soccer Aid for Unicef. It was revealed that he raised more than £1.5 million- and counting - for the charity in his 'Match Ball Mission'. Last week, Sam was seen breaking down in tears as he finished a five-day Soccer Aid challenge, that saw him run and cycle a total of 260 miles. Sam's Match Ball Mission saw him spend last week travelling from Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium in London, the location of last year's Soccer Aid game in aid of Unicef, to Manchester United’s Old Trafford home, which is hosting the 2025 event, to deliver the match ball. Sam later returned to This Morning on Monday (June 9) to chat to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley. Reflecting on the challenge, Sam said: "I’ve got to stop crying! You’re making me so emotional, so many tears man." Sam also thanked Ben for his support after he joined him at the start of his mammoth challenge. He said: "Thank you so much for all your support, every time I saw you and I heard you, it made me so emotional so I really, really appreciate it." While he's set to take part in the Soccer Aid match this Sunday (June 15), which airs live on ITV, Sam is also making another return to the small screen, this time with one of his close pals. Earlier this year, the radio and podcast host was seen teaming up with JLS star Marvin Humes, with the pair revealing they had been filming ITV's ancestory show, DNA Journey. And it'll be on Thursday (June 12), fans will find out what they discovered about their families. In a video shared to his Instagram Story, Sam could be seen at sister Louise's house as he told her and her partner Ryan Libby: "Guys, I've got some huge news..." He went on: "I've got massive news and I forgot to tell everyone. Louise, this is huge. Ryan, this is huge! DNA Journey is out on Thursday. DNA Journey, me and Marvin, ITV1, Thursday evening... We go and check out our family roots. One of us goes to Jamaica, I'm not going to say who." It comes after Sam shared a snap of himself outside in Louise's garden alongside Ryan, while his older sibling could be seen peering in the background from the kitchen with her son, Leo. Alongside the post, the reality star wrote: "Back where I belong... annoying the neighbours [crying laughing emoji]." He then zoomed in to focus on Louise's pose and mocked: "Nice pose @louise.thompson [crying laughing emoji]. She's gonna kill me!"
