Sam’s Club fans are not sweet on a product change.
The national grocery store recently swapped out its beloved cinnamon rolls for a new formula, according to Sam’s Club Lovers’ Instagram page.
On Wednesday, March 12, the fan account claimed that Sam’s Club bakery items are different. The updated cinnamon rolls come in packs of 10 rather than eight and are said to be smaller than the older version. But the changes don’t stop at the serving size.
"It appears that the actual recipe has changed as well, and the icing to me is sweeter,” the Instagram caption read. “I do actually prefer the old version better because you could heat up one at a time easier! 🥲”
PEOPLE reached out to a representative for Sam's Club for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
The supermarket-dedicated page is not alone in its opinion. “Horrible the dough is too dense and hard not soft and fluffy at all!!!” one commenter wrote. Another added, “I vote for the old formula.”
On Sam’s Club’s website, the product page is full of complaints, too.
“I refuse to buy these cinnamon rolls. They are definately a down grade. Please bring back the old ones,” someone wrote in the product reviews.
With enough gusto, it is possible that fueled-up customers could get the change reversed just like Whole Foods fans did last year.
Whole Foods’s popular Berry Chantilly cake had a recipe switch in September that cult followers were quick to notice and boycott.

TikTokers posted about rumors that the cake slices were being discontinued and that the full cakes would stick to the original recipe. Rather than the $5 two layers of vanilla cake with berries and almond-mascarpone cream frosting, the individual cake slices were swapped with a frozen cake and frosting and jam filling in place of the fresh fruit.
But after a week of berating the national retailers, Berry Chantilly lovers forced Whole Foods to listen to their requests. The company addressed the recipe reversal in the comments section of a TikTok on Oct. 1 and said that the slices would go back to the original formula by the end of that week.
