Scotland under-21 call-up for Kilmarnock duo for upcoming friendly double-header
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Kilmarnock pair David Watson and Bobby Wales have been called into the Scotland under-21 squad for their upcoming double header against the Republic of Ireland and Iceland. Head coach Scot Gemmill has named a youthful looking squad as he prepares for the start of the Euro 2027 under-21 qualifiers, which get underway in September. Both games take place at the Pinatar Arena in Spain with Scotland first taking on the Irish on March 21 (7pm kick-off UK time) before battling Iceland four days later (1pm kick-off UK time). Wales has earned plenty of plaudits and forced his way into a regular starting role at Killie this term and won the February Goal of the Month award for a wonderful touch and finish against St Johnstone. The striker, who is out of contract in the summer, is attracting plenty of interest but the Rugby Park side are still hopeful the local lad will put pen to paper on a new deal.
