Three men have been rushed to hospital following violent clashes between traveller families that saw around 20 armed thugs attack rivals and smash vehicles. It is understood that metal poles, golf clubs and road signs were among the weapons used in a feud that left people injured and cars damaged. Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident. The shocking scenes shared on social media took place in the Stevenston area of Ayrshire on Sunday, March 9. Footage shows a group of riled up men in a transit van approaching the makeshift campsite at a car park close to the seaside town's beach before chaos erupted. Caravans and other vehicles are seen in the background as the men speed towards them. One of the gang is then heard shouting, "Don't ram! Don't ram the van!", reports the Record. In the 35-second-long clip, another man is heard saying, "Out, now!" before he and a group of thugs pile out of the vehicle and race towards their victims. One man can be seen swinging a spade, while another wielding a road sign follows on. A third man is seen using a golf club as a weapon, while others have huge metal poles. The footage cuts off before an injured man is seen lying on the ground. Another clip then shows a brute using his weapon to smash in a car window as a terrified driver cowers inside. Many of the men, clad in hi-vis clothing are then filmed smashing up more cars and a caravan at the car park. More violence continued off camera after the group left the site and descended on a Morrisons supermarket around two miles away in the town's Kilwinning Road. A 20-year-old man and two teenage boys were left seriously injured in the brutal attack at the store, which saw a number of vehicles rammed by a van before emergency crews raced to the scene. All three victims were rushed to hospital for treatment. Police confirmed they will remain in the area as they carry out enquiries.
