Scots Line of Duty star Mark Bonnar is rumoured to be taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors as filming for the BBC show already kicked off yesterday. The 56-year-old played rogue cop DCC Mike Bryden in the second series of the hit police detective show Line of Duty and has also enjoyed a few stints in Casualty and Shetland. The Edinburgh born TV star, who has a whole list of other BBC shows under his appearance, is now set to join host Claudia Winkleman and a host of other famous faces for the first celebrity version of the Traitors. The show will once again take place at the grand Ardross Castle in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Fans may also recognise Bonnar from the acclaimed BBC crime drama Guilt, where he took the lead role of Max, as well as his role of Officer Meek in the BBC sitcom Porridge and his part playing Roderick McGill, in the BBC series Lockerbie: A Search for the Truth. The actor also narrated for BBC documentary The Forest. The Scottish star was named yesterday in the rumoured line up alongside a number of other big names - however the BBC are yet to officially confirm. These include comedian Alan Carr, 48, and ITV talk show host Jonathan Ross, 64, both of which were among some of the first rumoured names for the show last year. Chatty man host Alan's name was first mentioned in November last year after fans expressed their desire to see him participate in the hit show. Carr has reportedly never taken part in a reality TV show before and sources close to him have revealed that he can't wait for the games to begin. Meanwhile, Jonathan Ross was the first name to be unofficially revealed as he is said to have been in talks with the Celebrity Traitors show since July last year. His stint on the show will be the legendary broadcaster's first gig with the BBC in 14 years after he quit following the explosive Andrew Sachs prank call scandal with Russell Brand on BBC Radio 2. Other big names set to star on the first celebrity version of the Traitors include QI legend Stephen Fry, British actor Nick Mohammed, Olympic diving hero Tom Daley, rugby legend Joe Marler and singer Charlotte Church. The diverse line up doesn't stop there as comedian Joe Wilkinson, BBC Sports presenter Clare Balding, comic Lucy Beamount, singer Paloma Faith, historian David Olusoga and TV host Kate Garraway are also in the mix. Actress Ruth Codd, EastEnders' favourite Tameka Empson, showbiz icon Celia Imrie, comedian Bob Mortimer, YouTube star Niko Omilana and vocalist Cat Burns have also reportedly all signed up too. Filming for the BBC show is reportedly already underway but an official start date for The Traitors Celebrity version has not yet been revealed. The nine-part season was announced at the Edinburgh TV Festival last year. The third season of the UK version of The Traitors wrapped in January this year with winners Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown taking home the prize between them. The BBC's head of entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight said at the time: "The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level. "It will once again be fascinating for our audiences to see who’ll outwit, outplay, and outlast. Let the mind games begin!"
