Sebastian Tounekti to Celtic transfer bid thrown out as Hammarby set asking price
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Celtic have had an opening £2.6million bid thrown out for Hammarby winger Sebastian Tounekti. The Hoops have agreed a £4.5m deal to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha and the Belgian flying machine is set to touch down in Glasgow on Wednesday. But Brendan Rodgers is keen to add another wide man before Monday's deadline - and Tunisia international Tounekti has emerged as a key target. The 23-year-old has caught the eye in the Swedish top-flight, scoring two and assisting five in 22 appearances this season. However, Celts will have to up the ante to land left-sided playmaker and Record Sport understands Hammarby are holding out for between £4.3m and £5m. The Parkhead club are expected to return to the table with an improved offer, but could also face competition from Leicester City for the Tromso-born ace's signature. Celtic chiefs have accelerated transfer plans in the wake of Tuesday night's humiliating Champions League exit to Kazakh minnows Kairat Almaty. Long-term target Balikwisha is expected to be unveiled in the next 48 hours along with Boca Juniors left-back Marcelo Saracchi, who has agreed a season-long loan deal. Rodgers is also in the market for another main striker after watching misfiring Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah draw a blank in the dismal penalty shootout defeat in Kazakhstan.
