CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Starting Monday March 31, New Jersey Democratic U.S. Senator Cory Booker broke segregationist South Carolina U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond’s record for the longest senate floor speech, setting a new marathon mark of 25 hours and 5 minutes.
Extra special that Sen. Booker feet of stamina to surpass segregationist Thurmond began on the anniversary of sprinter Jesse Owens’ passing on March 31, 1980.
Raised in Cleveland, Owens was a Gold Medalist in the 1936 Olympics in Germany before supreme satanic segregationist Adolf Hitler.
Senator Thurmond had first set the record trying to filibuster the 1957 Civil Rights Act. Thurmond also opposed the Voting Rights Act and Justice Thurgood Marshall being on the U.S. Supreme Court.
As opposed to Sen. Thurmond, Sen Booker, inspired by Civil Rights marcher Rep. John Lewis, set out to make ‘Good Trouble’ speaking out in defiance of anti-DEI & Democracy Donald Trump.
