The Slovenia cricket team is set to tour Serbia to play a three-match T20I series against the hosts. The series, spanning over two days, will be hosted in its entirety by the Lisicji Jarak Cricket Ground in Belgrade.Hosts Serbia is currently ranked No. 91 on the latest ICC men’s T20I team rankings, while the Slovenia cricket team is ranked 12 spots higher at 79. However, Slovenia recently suffered a two-rung slump to slip from number 77 to 79 at the expense of Costa Rica and Bhutan. Both Serbia and Slovenia previously faced each other thrice in T20Is, all during their brief series in Ljubljana back in June 2024. Hosts Slovenia won that series by a 2-1 margin under the leadership of Izaz Ali.The Serbian cricket team is currently on a six-match losing streak. Ever since winning a dead-rubber against Slovenia in June 2024, Serbia has lost each of their four matches during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Europe Qualifier Group B. Moreover, they also lost their subsequent two-match T20I series in Gibraltar by a 0-2 margin in September 2024.Slovenia, on the other hand, is on a five-match losing streak, which included a 0-4 trashing at the hands of hosts Austria in Graz last month.Recent losing streak puts both teams in desperate need of a turnaround as they look to regain confidence and form in the ICC Europe circuit.
