The famous track queen was set to race in the 100m semifinals, having clocked a Season's Best (SB) of 11.07s to finish second behind training partner Kayla White in the heats on Day 1 of the championship, but will no longer be participating with no reasons given. According to American track journalist @_serenityd via X, Richardson will no longer compete at the trials. "Just been told that Sha’Carri is done competing at trials. That includes her 200 that would’ve been run on Sunday. No more details have been provided, but wishing her nothing but the best," she tweeted. Consequently, Richardson's name has been removed from the 100m semifinal startlist despite being included before her withdrawal. A public record shows that the Paris Olympics 4x100m gold medallist was booked at the South Correctional Entity in Des Moines, Wash., at 6:54 p.m. on Sunday and released by court order on Monday at 1:13 p.m. ET, and was arrested based on domestic violence assault and was briefly booked into Score jail in Des Moines. Richardson has had a troubled 2025 season, both on and off the track, as she's just recovering from an injury setback that hampered her training progress, while struggling to get back in form on time ahead of defending her 100m title at the World Championships in Tokyo in September.
