Rampage Jackson’s fighting return against former UFC rival axed
Jackson was supposed to return to fighting in a boxing match against former UFC foe Rashad Evans this summer, but the fight was recently canceled. Jackson and Evans had one of the most heated rivalries in UFC history.
Rua entered the UFC Hall of Fame last year after a career that included a UFC light heavyweight championship. His reign came to an end courtesy of Jon Jones, who became the UFC’s youngest-ever titleholder.
Rua’s planned MMA comeback in the now-defunct Global Fight League was recently canceled. Rua was supposed to face Yoel Romero in a light heavyweight matchup.
Rua’s soccer kicks wouldn’t’ve been legal in the UFC if he competed in the Octagon at the time of the Jackson fight. But before embarking on a legendary UFC career, Rua made the most of one of MMA’s most controversial techniques.
