Iyer attained the feat with his 13th run of the match. He is the 22nd player to enter the 3,500-run club. He slammed 45 as PBKS beat LSG by 37 runs. Iyer continued with his attacking approach as PBKS racked up 236/5 in 20 overs. He added a 78-run stand with Prabhsimran Singh, who slammed 91. Iyer missed his half-century, having smashed a 25-ball 45. His blazing knock, which had 4 fours and 2 sixes, didn't let PBKS's scoring rate drop after Josh Inglis's dismissal. Iyer has raced to 405 runs at 50.62 this season. Playing his 127th game, Iyer raced past 3,500 runs in the IPL. He now has 3,532 runs at an average of 33.63. The tally includes 25 half-centuries and a strike-rate of 131.93. His highest score reads 97*. Iyer has also represented Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He led the Knight Riders to the IPL 2024 title. Under Iyer's leadership, DC reached their maiden IPL final in 2020.
