Sir Bradley Wiggins has left fans gobsmacked with his hulking body transformation. The cycling legend, who won gold at the London 2012 Olympics, was known for his lean machine build during his prime. But times have changed, and after financial struggles that led to bankruptcy last year, he has beefed up as he gets his life back on track. Now 45, Wiggins has hit the road with a speaking tour and – much to the joy of his supporters – has been spotted back in the saddle. He has been in Czechia (formerly the Czech Republic) promoting the L'E Tape Czech Republic cycle event alongside Petr Cech, the former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper. The former Tour de France king is active on social media these days, sharing snaps and clips from the gym where he has flaunted a bulkier frame. Following his personal issues, his followers are delighted to see him busy and looking healthy, with some comparing his new look to that of a WWE star. "Great to see you out and about mate," lauded one fan on Instagram. Another added: "Great to see you on the bike, Brad." And a third said: "Looking fit again Brad. Good on you!! Well done." Since retiring from top-level cycling in 2016, Wiggins, once worth £13million, battled drug addiction while his financial issues left him virtually homeless and forced him to sofa-surf for a period. A contributing factor to his struggles was the sexual abuse he endured as a youngster by his coach Stan Knight. Knight, who died in 2003, is accused of abusing other young cyclists. Wiggins has opened up about his financial nightmare, pointing the finger at those he trusted to look after his fiscal affairs. At the same time, he accepts he didn't keep a close enough eye on his finances during his peak cycling years. He told The Telegraph in March: "I regret I never paid attention to my financial affairs when I was racing. It's one of the things that happens to athletes – you make a lot of money, and if you haven't got your eyes on it, people take advantage. "I was getting ripped off left, right and centre by the people looking after me. Accountants as well." Despite facing a debt that ballooned to nearly £2million last November, Wiggins is looking up again thanks to his various interests. He said: "I'm on the front foot now. This was something that was done to me. "Eight months on [from bankruptcy], it has all turned around. The people who are responsible are paying a heavy price for it. Fortunately, it's all good. My life's in a good place."
