Sir David Beckham's personal touch at Inter Miami speaks volumes about Man United icon

Ian Fray, the shining talent of Inter Miami, has opened up about the club's hands-on co-owner, Sir David Beckham, highlighting his approachability and attentiveness to all team members. Beckham turned heads in 2018 with the establishment of the Major League Soccer franchise. Since their foundation, Inter Miami have crafted a team laced with celebrated figures such as World Cup icon Lionel Messi, and he's in good company with ex-Barcelona comrades Jordi Alba, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets. Beckham's involvement extends beyond the glamour signings; he's often spotted at the Miami training grounds and is a regular fixture at matches, always making time for the entire squad. Fray underscores Beckham's dedication, noting that he offers a kind of on-demand support to his charges, a testament to the newly knighted United legend's character. "Yeah, he's good," Fray confided to Mirror US Sports. "He's been here quite a few times and he says hi to everyone in the morning. If you want something, you can go and ask him at any time. He gives you his number so you can text him if you need anything. He's a great guy.", reports the Mirror . The past week has been particularly momentous for Beckham as he received knighthood in acknowledgement of his contributions to sport and charitable efforts, earning him the title Sir David in King Charles' Birthday Honours list. Last Friday marked the official transition from former England captain to Sir David Beckham. David Beckham's commitment to his team was evident just hours after being honoured by King Charles in London; he showed up at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for his club's opening match in the Club World Cup. While talking to DAZN on match day, Beckham shared: "'It's been an emotional week I must admit. For me and for my family. It's obviously very special. It's a huge honour, but one that has been shared with myself and my family and so, it's been emotional." Miami finds themselves in a challenging Club World Cup group alongside Egypt's Al Ahly, Brazil's Palmeiras, and FC Porto from Portugal, in what is FIFA's upgraded version of the competition. Following their goalless draw against Al Ahly, player Fray has high hopes for making an impression at the tournament. Reflecting on their preparation, 22-year-old Fray acknowledged: "We had a really strong week of practice last week, it's been super hot here. I think we are definitely ready," and highlighted the team's eagerness to prove themselves, stating: "Once we heard we were in from even last year, we were looking forward to this. Everyone looks at MLS as a lower league - we want to go in and make a statement and show that we can hang with whoever." With a fixture against Porto awaiting them on Thursday, Miami is aiming for their first victory of the contest. This year's Club World Cup also sees the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City from the Premier League competing. Enzo Maresca's squad will kick off their campaign on Monday evening against Los Angeles FC. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's team are set to face Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca on Wednesday afternoon.
