Snoop Dogg is getting back in the coaching chair. As announced Wednesday (April 23), the rapper is locked in to return to The Voice as part of an expansive new partnership with NBCUniversal, which will also see him exploring various film, television, sports and streaming projects in conjunction with his Death Row Pictures company, according to Variety.
The news comes after Snoop made his coaching debut on the singing competition show’s 26th season in 2024. The program is currently on its 27th installment, with Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, Adam Levine and John Legend on the panel.
The Voice is just one of multiple avenues through which the hip-hop star has worked with NBC in recent years, with Snoop also leading much of the company’s coverage of the 2024 Olympics last summer. With Universal, he’s been developing a biopic about his acquisition of Death Row Records directed by Allen Hughes.
“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but [NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios chairman] Donna [Langley] and the NBCUniversal team have always understood,” Snoop said in a statement. “I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home. The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”
In addition to his work with Death Row Pictures, Snoop is also currently finishing up a gospel record via Death Row Records. Altar Call will arrive April 27, following December’s joint LP Missionary with Dr. Dre.
The “Gin and Juice” rapper was also recently named one of Time‘s 100 most influential people of 2025. Appearing on the cover of the magazine, he opened up in a corresponding interview about balancing music with all of his other ventures, such as the new deal with NBCUniversal.
“People think I get caught up in commercials and movies and TV and fail to realize that my foundation is music,” he told the publication. “I have to realign everybody to understand it. There’s none of it without the music.”
