Actress Soha Ali Khan recently opened up about her mother Sharmila Tagore’s journey. She reminisced about her mother taking on responsibilities at a young age, mentioning that Sharmila was the eldest of three sisters and supported the family for a long time. Even after marriage, Sharmila was the primary earning member. Soha revealed that although her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was a professional cricketer, there wasn’t much money in the sport back then. While speaking with Zoom about her mother Sharmila Tagore, Soha said, “She was the eldest of three sisters and the breadwinner for a very long time. Even after marriage, she was the one earning an income, while my father had inherited wealth and played cricket, but there was no money in cricket back then.” Soha expressed admiration for Sharmila’s dedication to her work, noting that although her mother’s bluntness can be tough to hear, it always comes from a place of love and offers a reality check. “I really respect her work ethic. She is blunt about what she feels, and while that may be a bitter pill sometimes, it always comes from a place of love and gives you a reality check,” she said. She also praised her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor for being a superstar who remains true to herself, valuing her authenticity in today’s overly filtered world. “She is such a huge superstar, yet so comfortable in her own skin. What she chooses to share is real and authentic, and I respect that in today’s hyper-filtered world,” she said. Soha Ali Khan was last seen in the horror thriller film Chhorii 2 in a negative role. Helmed by Vishal Furia, the film featured Nushrratt Bharuccha and Gashmeer Mahajan in lead roles. The film is a sequel to Chhorii, which is an adaptation of Furia’s 2017 Marathi film Lapachhapi. The film marked Soha’s return to acting after a three-year hiatus. She previously appeared in the web series Hush Hush, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
