‘Squid Game: Unleashed,’ ‘Solitaire,’ ‘GTA: San Andreas’ Among Netflix’s Most-Played Mobile Games; ‘Rebel Moon’ Misses Top 15

Netflix has yet to unveil specific user data for its growing list of gaming content, but a new third-party report has revealed that “Squid Game: Unleashed” and “Solitaire” were among the streamer’s most popular mobile games over the past three months. However, the much-promoted “Rebel Moon” game didn’t make it into the rankings for the top 15 most-played games.
According to data compiled by What’s on Netflix and verified by Variety, which is based on the mobile game titles that earned a “Top 10” badge for global playtime on Netflix’s app between May 7-Aug. 12, the No. 1 slot goes to a classic: “Solitaire.” The Top 5 were rounded out by “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition,” then “Football Manger Mobile 2024,” “Bloons TD 6” and “Squid Game: Unleashed.”
The “Squid Game” game can likely attribute some of its playtime to the third and final season of “Squid Game,” which debuted June 27, as the game — which first launched in December with Season 2 — then included several updates tied to the new episodes.
The remaining 10 games were, in order: “Word Trails,” “Storyteller,” “World of Peppa Pig,” “Street Fight IV CE,” “SpongeBob: Get Cooking,” “Single’s Inferno: Choices,” “Snake.io,” the “Netflix Stories” franchise, “Farming Simulator 23,” and “Black Mirror: Thronglets” (released April 10 along with Season 7 of “Black Mirror.”)
Absent from the list was “Blood Line,” a mobile game set in the world of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” film franchise. That title was released July 15.
It should be noted that this ranking does not include games only available via TVs — like Netflix’s “Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98 Demo,” which debuted July 25 along with “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Representatives for Netflix declined to comment on these aggregated rankings for its mobile titles.
While Netflix recently began to remove several third-party titles from its mobile game offering, the streamer is continuing to grow its in-house gaming division with more titles based on its own IP — for both mobile and TV platforms — and new originals in the works.
