Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday signed 22-year-old Vidarbha allrounder Harsh Dubey as a replacement for Karnataka batter Smaran Ravichandran, who was ruled out because of an injury. Notably, the latter had himself replaced Adam Zampa, who had been ruled out earlier. Dubey has 127 wickets and 941 runs against his name from 16 T20s, 20 List A and 18 first-class games he has played. Dubey will join Hyderabad for Rs 30 lakh. Notably, the 22-year-old was recently named the player of the series of the Ranji Trophy earlier this year, for his 476 runs and a whopping 69 wickets across the tournament, as he drove Vidarbha to the title. Dubey had made his List A debut in February 2021, against Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Nine months later, he made his T20 debut, against Arunachal Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Dubey made his Ranji Trophy debut in December 2022 against Jammu and Kashmir. He scored a half-century in his maiden first-class innings. He now has 709 runs from 18 matches in first-class cricket, at an average of 24.44 and with seven half-centuries to his name. Dubey, who bowls left-arm spin, has also picked 97 wickets in those 18 matches, at an impressive economy of 2.87.
