DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) – St. Teresa multi-sport athlete Lucy Corley was named the WCIA 3 Athlete of the Week on Thursday.
Corley scored 31 points to help the Bulldogs win their first sectional title in more than two decades. However, basketball might not even be her best sport. She’s committed to play DI soccer for Samford.
Corley, a senior, balances school, basketball and club soccer in St. Louis.
“Balancing your school and sports is a part of something I’ll have to do in college so just to be able to do it now is going to get me ready for next year,” she said. “I think the car rides there are a good time to do homework and catch up on some sleep, too.”
Corley is now eligible for a $1,000 scholarship which will be given away to one boy and one girl at the end of the school year.
