SCRUM PNG and Partners PNG Aus partnership with Oceania Rugby through its PNG Rugby inclusive Impact Rugby Program (IIRP) in Morobe, is making a significant difference in communities by instilling important values in children.
The program’s mission to teach children five core values – passion, integrity, respect, solidarity, and discipline – has garnered positive feedback from schools in the Huon Gulf district in Morobe.
The impact of the program was evident during a festival staged at Erap Primary School, where students, teachers, and parents testified to the positive changes they have witnessed in the children.
One of the key aspects of the IIRP is its focus on teaching values that go beyond the rugby field.
By emphasising the importance of passion, integrity, respect, solidarity, and discipline, the program aims to help children develop into well-rounded individuals who can contribute positively to their communities. These values are not only important in sports but also in everyday life, and the program’s emphasis on them is helping children build character and develop important life skills.
The positive feedback from six primary schools; Tararan, Ziffasing, Markham Farm, and Erap Primary and Erap Scared Juvenile Primary School in the Huon Gulf district is a testament to the effectiveness of the program.
