Sunday Brunch viewers were left cringing when host Tim Lovejoy completely forgot he had previously worked with guest Kellie Shirley. The awkwardness began just minutes into the show as Tim and co-host Simon Rimmer settled on the sofa to discuss the day's events with actress and TV personality Kellie. Kellie, known for her roles in hit series like Casualty where she played psych liaison nurse Sophia Peters, also had a stint presenting alongside Tim over 15 years ago. Back in 2009, Kellie filled in for Amanda Hamilton on BBC Two's Something for the Weekend while Amanda was on maternity leave, co-hosting with Tim. A fact that seemed to have slipped his mind during the live Sunday Brunch interview. To add to the embarrassment, Tim introduced her as "Kellie Kay," mixing up her name right from the start, despite claiming she was a regular on the show and well-known to him and Simon, reports the Express . He greeted her with: "We are now joined by Kellie Kay, this is your seventh time on the show." Kellie graciously overlooked the blunder, simply responding: "Thank you." But things got even more uncomfortable when Tim mentioned their past collaboration, asking: "You probably did Something For The Weekend, didn't you?" Kellie appeared bewildered and was not about to let Tim get off the hook this time as she corrected, saying: "I did, we presented it together." Tim, apparently earnest and forgetful of the collaboration, asked: "Did we?" eliciting an exasperated "ohh" from co-host Simon Rimmer. Attempting to salvage the situation, Tim mentioned: "And Soccer AM, you were on that a lot as well." To which the TV personality replied: "Yes, now that's going back twenty years." Kellie responded with the same answer again, telling him: "Yeah twenty years." She then burst into fits of laughter as Simon jumped in, scolding Tim: "At least you remember that Tim, hey." To give Tim his due, during the period Kellie filled in for Amanda's maternity leave on Something For The Weekend, there were numerous guest hosts like Jenni Falconer and Louise Redknapp , potentially explaining why his memory of Kellie may have lapsed.
