NFF celebrates as Super Eagles of Nigeria legend Osaze Odemwingie celebrates his 44th birthday.
The Nigerian football community has joined in celebrating the 44th birthday of Super Eagles icon Peter Osaze Odemwingie.
The retired forward was born on July, 15 1981 in Uzbekistan to a Nigerian father.
Osaze Odemwingie celebrates 44th Birthday
He took to his official social media platform to celebrate the special occasion.
Along with a video was a message that said, "Happy birthday to me 🥳🙏🏽. I make it rain on them toes."
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) also released a statement that said, "Happy birthday to our former forward, Osaze Odemwingie.
"Throwback to this follow cam with Osas."
The Super Eagles official social media platform released a message that said, "Happy birthday to former @NGSuperEagles forward, Peter Osaze Odemwingie."
Odemwingie was a fan favorite during his time with the Super Eagles and had 11 goals in 65 appearances.
He had a pivotal role in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where the Super Eagles clinched a silver medal.
Odemwingie’s career began modestly with Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier League before he earned a move to European football.
It was in the Premier League he made a name with West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City.
Odemwingie recently made headlines by auctioning the jersey of Lionel Messi he received during the 2014 World Cup clash between Nigeria and Argentina.
