Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi welcome fresh teammate at Nottingham Forest as Nigerian duo set to link up with latest addition in exciting development for Premier League side's squad depth and attacking options this season.
Nottingham Forest’s Premier League squad has received an exciting boost with the arrival of French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, marking a new chapter for Super Eagles stars Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi as they welcome a fresh teammate.
The 23-year-old forward joins Forest from Ligue 1 club Rennes in a deal reported to be worth around €30 million according a report from Sportal and Fabrizio Romano.
Kalimuendo, a Paris Saint-Germain academy product, had two years remaining on his contract with Rennes before agreeing personal terms with Nottingham Forest. The transfer is close to completion, with only minor final details left to be finalised.
Kalimuendo’s career has been marked by consistent development and goal-scoring prowess. After beginning his professional journey at PSG and gaining invaluable experience during a loan spell at Lens, he moved to Rennes in 2022.
Since then, he scored 34 goals in 93 appearances for the Breton side, including 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season, showing his ability as a reliable and dynamic striker.
On the international stage, Kalimuendo was part of the French Olympic team that won the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, further underlining his potential at a young age.
For Nottingham Forest, this signing represents a significant step in strengthening their attacking options ahead of an ambitious season featuring Premier League and European competition.
Kalimuendo's arrival is expected to complement the Nigerian duo of Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, adding depth and firepower as Forest looks to build on last season’s achievements.
The French striker’s combination of pace, technical skill, and goal-scoring instincts offers optimism for Forest fans, signaling the club’s clear intent to compete at a higher level in the 2025 campaign.
Ola Aina and Awoniyi who have already welcome another African to the club will undoubtedly look to link up with Kalimuendo as Nottingham Forest target success and resilience across all competitions this season.
This addition caps off a busy transfer window for Forest and raises expectations around the City Ground for an exciting style of play and increased attacking threat in both domestic and European fixtures.
The Nottingham Forest squad now boasts increased quality and fresh talent as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
