During his 13-year-long IPL career, Pollard played 189 matches and scored 3412 runs, whereas Surya now has 3413 runs to his name in 106 IPL matches for MI. He needed 53 runs on Sunday to go past Pollard’s tally, and he achieved the objective by hitting Avesh Khan for a six on the second ball of the 18th over.
