Suryakumar Yadav has been in red-hot form for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, and on Sunday (April 27), during MI’s 10th league match of the ongoing season against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium, he broke Kieron Pollard’s record to become the second leading run scorer in the world’s richest franchise cricket league for the Mumbai-based franchise.
During his 13-year-long IPL career, Pollard played 189 matches and scored 3412 runs, whereas Surya now has 3413 runs to his name in 106 IPL matches for MI.
He needed 53 runs on Sunday to go past Pollard’s tally, and he achieved the objective by hitting Avesh Khan for a six on the second ball of the 18th over.
