SWR officials of Mysuru division meet with industry representatives to strengthen freight services

Officials of the Mysuru division of South Western Railways (SWR) held a meeting with representatives from the industry on Wednesday to gather feedback on strengthening freight operations and contributing to regional economic growth.
“During the meeting, key freight-related issues were thoroughly discussed, including the need for enhanced terminal infrastructure, faster rake allotment, improved wagon availability, and simplified documentation procedures,” said a statement issued by Mysuru Railway division.
The meeting was attended by Mudit Mittal, divisional railway manager, Mysuru; Vinayak R. Nayak, additional divisional railway manager, S.D. Nagendraprasad, senior divisional operations manager; Chandrashekar, assistant general manager, TVS, and Sunil D.K., deputy operations manager, Toyota, along with other senior officers from the division.
During the meeting with stakeholders, discussions focused on improving freight operations, addressing customer needs, and ensuring seamless logistics solutions to benefit industries in and around the region. “The administration emphasised its openness to stakeholder feedback and reiterated its dedication to maintaining high service standards,” the statement said.
The stakeholders emphasised the importance of punctual and dependable freight movement for industries such as automobiles, cement, steel, and consumer goods.
“The Railway officials assured continuous coordination and timely redressal of operational concerns. Proposals for new freight sidings, augmentation of handling facilities, and digitisation of freight booking processes were also deliberated, underscoring SWR Mysuru division’s focus on making freight transport more user-friendly and competitive,” the statement said.
