Syracuse, N.Y. ― The NBA released the list of early entrants in the league’s 2025 draft on Tuesday. The 106 players who chose to enter the draft despite having college eligibility remaining is the lowest number since 2015. The list includes international players. Among the players who put their names into the draft were a Syracuse native plus a dozen players who were at ACC schools this past season. Quincy Ballard, a 7-foot center who grew up in Syracuse and attended Henninger High School as a freshman, entered his name into the NBA draft. The NBA draft will take place on June 25-26. Players have until June 15 to withdraw from the draft. Ballard averaged 10.0 points and 9.2 rebounds at Wichita State this past season. Ballard, who began his college career at Florida State, recently transferred to Mississippi State. Ballard is expected to remain in college and play for Mississippi State next season. Of the 12 players from ACC schools who entered the NBA draft early, four have entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. Notre Dame’s Tae Davis (Oklahoma), Florida State’s Jerry Deng (NC State) and Pittsburgh’s Jaland Lowe (Kentucky) have already landed at new schools. Florida State’s Jamir Watkins is still available in the portal. The other eight ACC players are Cooper Flagg, Kon Kneuppel, Khaman Maluach, Tyrese Proctor and Isaiah Evans (all from Duke), Virginia Tech’s Toibu Lawal, Notre Dame’s Kebbe Njie and North Carolina’s Drake Powell.
