Ghana will once again make a splash on the global stage as four swimmers represent the country at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore from July 27 to August 3.
The contingent, led by Ghana Swimming Association President Delphina Quaye and General Secretary Muniru Kassim, is expected to depart Accra on July 23 for the competition.
Captain Abeiku Jackson headlines the squad, competing in the 50m and 100m butterfly, along with the 4x100m mixed freestyle and mixed medley relays.
Jackson remains Ghana’s swimming talisman, having won the nation’s first two medals in the sport at the African Games.
Joining him is Harry Stacey, who made waves at the 2024 Olympic Games and clinched a medal at last year’s Africa Aquatics Championships in Angola.
He’ll line up in the 50m and 100m freestyle events, and feature in both relay teams.
Budding star Joselle Mensah, who represented the country at the 2023 African Games, 2024 Olympics, and multiple medals in the CANA Zone II Championship, will also swim the freestyle sprints and team relays.
The experienced Nubia Adjei, who has held the national record in the 100m backstroke, will compete in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and both mixed relay events.
The quartet will be hoping to make their mark at the global championships.
