What Tebas said
Via his Twitter handle, Tebas shared quotes from Ancelotti from over the years, attempting to show inconsistency in the former AC Milan coach’s comments.
According to the quotes shared by Tebas on X, Ancelotti kicked against five substitutions as an Everton manager when they were first introduced in the Premier League.
However, the 65-year-old changed his tune when he became Real Madrid boss, lauding the five-substitution rule and how it is useful to his squad.
What led to this
The Real Madrid boss recently complained about fixture congestion, threatening that his team would no longer turn up to play any game with less than 72 hours of rest time.
In response, Tebas accused Ancelotti of doing a poor job at rotating his squad, stating that the Italian had a reputation for failing to utilise the maximum five substitutions allowed.
Ancelotti clapped back during the pre-match press conference of their LALIGA clash against Leganes, saying, “Do I have to answer you? I already knew about the obsession he has with Real Madrid, not who the coach is. He has to focus more on his own things because he is disrespecting Real Madrid and also the coaches.”
