Kilmarnock Football Club have been forced to take down a post about their new signing Skye Stout after nasty trolls tore into her appearance. In what should have been a joyous occasion, a barrage of abuse arrived when the post was made on social media. The post was up for just a few hours before being taken down after dreadful comments about her facial acne. However, the world of football has united to defend Stout and hit back at the trolls. X page 'Grassroots' took to the platform to issue one of the first major responses. Their post has been viewed almost six million times since Friday morning, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher among those offering their wishes of good luck to Stout. "Please send your love and support to 16 year old Skye Stout from Scotland," it reads. "And don't let the ignorant bullies win. Yesterday, the official page of the Scottish club Kilmarnock women's team announced that the club had signed a contract with 16-year-old midfielder Skye Stout. "A grassroots player signing her first pro contract, should have been a moment to cherish for her, however Skye was forced to endure ridicule from ignorant and disrespectful fans who began to humiliate her over her facial acne. "Things escalated to the point where the club decided to delete all posts mentioning Skye Stout in an effort to stop the bullying from haters." Even Joey Swoll, a viral American fitness influencer with over 300 million TikTok likes, responded with a heartwarming message for Stout. Swoll is known for spreading positivity in the health and fitness world and regularly hits back at online trolls and bullies. "16 years old and signing a pro contract! AMAZING SKYE!," he wrote. "This should be one of the best moments in her life to be celebrated and remembered for her hard work but instead it’s full of ignorant bullies that need to do better! "How can we support this incredible young woman? Do they sell her jersey?" Chelsea Women and Bordeaux FC were just two of the teams that showed their support, and even England cricket legend Kevin Pietersen left a comment 'Her Game Too' also made a lovely post about Stout, encouraging her to "Keep Shining". 'Football Tweet' also wrote: "Let’s show Skye some love from the entire football community." Reacting to the post being taken down, fans offered their support whilst condemning the trolls. "Her skin looks almost exactly like mine when I was her age, and I still battle as an adult with breakouts and hyperpigmentation from scarring," wrote one on Reddit. "It means a lot to see someone like you, and I hate that idiots have ruined this moment. Wishing her all the support and strength she needs, and a season of success." "People can be truly disgusting," wrote another.
